How To Reset Your Apple Mac OS X Admin Password Without an OS X CD 
- Reboot your Mac
- Hold the APPLE + S keys down after you hear the bootup chime.
- When you get text prompt enter the following terminal commands to create a brand new administrator account. Be sure to hit the return key after entering each line:
- mount -uw /
- rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
- shutdown -h now
- Now power up your Mac and it should take you through the welcome screen which will enable you to create a brand new administrator account. After login in as the new administrator, you will be able to amend the previous administrator and all other user accounts on the computer.
All the data on the computer prior to the aforementioned changes should remain intact afterwards.
